Asphalt Roofing - As Quick As One Day

Composition Shingles (Asphalt Shingles) are the most common shingle you will see on homes throughout the Green Bay area as well as everywhere in the US. Up to 80% of all homes in the United States have composition shingle roofs.

Premium Composition/Asphalt Shingle products are called "architectural" or "dimensional" shingles. These thicker, often laminated shingles cast shadow lines like a thick wood shake. As you can see in the picture above, the result is a rich, textured appearance rather than the traditional flat surface of standard three-tab shingles.

All asphalt shingles are coated with a layer of mineral granules that protect the shingle from sunlight, add color and, in some cases, help resist algae and fungus growth. Manufacturers can discourage unwanted plant life by adding copper or zinc to the granule mix.

We Offer a Wide Selection of Designs and Colors

Overhead Solutions, Inc. works with the top manufacturers to give you the greatest selection of Composition Shingles. The choices can be mind boggling but we can help you quickly sort through your options based on your budget, architecture, color and preferences.

Metal Roofing - Guaranteed for Life

Metal Roofing is quickly becoming a desirable alternative to traditional composition shingles. Along with its many advantages over conventional roofing, Metal Roofing is now available in several styles and designer colors, allowing you to add beauty and value to your home.

Longevity / Durability
Metal roofing is much stronger and more durable than asphalt shingle roofing. Many manufacturer's offer 30 year limited paint warranty on their panels, your metal roof can last twice as long as most conventional roofs. Because metal roofing is so durable, it has long been the choice for many school, government, and industrial buildings.

Metal roofing is superior to composition roofing in all types of weather conditions, including hail, sun exposure, and wind. Unlike shingles, metal roofing will not deteriorate due to sun exposure. High winds and/or a hail storm will destroy a composition roof, but a metal roof can handle wind speeds up to 140 MPH and is extremely hail resistant. Metal roofing performs so well, that in the state of Texas, if you have a metal roof that meets Underwriters Laboratories UL 2218 specifications, you can qualify for up to a 35% discount on your homeowner's insurance.

Cost vs. Composite
Metal roofing costs more than composite roofing up front, but it holds up so well itís likely to be less expensive in the long run. A metal roof is virtually maintenance-free and lasts at least twice as long as the 25-year average for asphalt shingles. Metal roofing greatly reduces the chance youíll have to deal with insurance and repair bills after a big storm. Metal roofs are also highly valued and a smart way to invest in your home.

Energy Efficient
Lighter colored metal roofs reflect away much of the sun's UV rays, which can help keep your house cooler and lower cooling costs. In recent studies done in Florida, a metal roof can cut cooling costs by as much as 25% or more.

Environmentally Friendly
According to the National Association of Homebuilders Research Center, 20 billion pounds of asphalt shingles are dumped into U.S. landfills annually. The recycled content of steel in metal roofing is much higher than the recycled content in asphalt shingles. Also, due to the low weight of metal roofing (about half that of shingles), in many cases it can be installed directly over your existing roof, saving the environmental as well as financial costs associated with removal and disposal.

Stone Coated Roofing Install & Repair

As the original stone coated steel roofing system, the DECRA product line represents a perfect blending of over 50 years of research and practical experience. Offering the ultimate in performance and engineering design is what DECRA Roofing Systems are all about. Stone Coated Steel products are unique. Stone coated and pressed into different profiles, DECRA products offer texture and style not found in traditional metal roofing products.

DECRA can resemble Asphalt, Wood, Clay, ot Concrete

As a substrate, steel provides the perfect medium for pressing panels to resemble various conventional materials: asphalt shingles, clay tiles, concrete tiles, and wood shakes. However, unlike conventional products, stone coated steel is lightweight, durable, freeze/thaw resistant, walkable and require little to no maintenance over the life of the roof

DECRA Stone Coated vs. Standing Seam Metal

Unlike standing seam metal roofs, DECRA Roofing Systems are not installed vertically; panels are smaller, interlocking and install horizontally. The interlocking feature aids in leak prevention, and the design keeps the panels in place during a storm.

Metal roofing is becoming the choice of architects, builders and homeowners that are concerned with sustainable design, or "green" building. Our products contain upwards of 25% recycled steel, have a life cycle of more than 50 years, and are energy efficient. Additionally, our products are suitable for use with water catchment systems, and solar panel systems.

Class A Fire Rating

All DECRA products are manufactured from steel, a noncombustible material, have a Class A fire rating, a limited, transferable 50-year warranty - covering manufacturing defects including loss of appearance and/or excessive granule loss - a 120 mph wind-uplift warranty and a Class 4 UL impact resistance rating, the highest available. And, they have been proven in the market for over fifty years.

Flat Roofing / Commercial Roofing

A roof that is slightly pitched or nearly flat is called a low-slope roof. No roof should be "flat" - though they may appear that way to you from the ground; every roof should have an intentional slight slope for drainage. Problems are common and more difficult to diagnose with low slope roofing because often times the leak area is not directly located where the water is appearing in a building.

Prevent Standing Water on Flat Roofing!

Your low slope roof should have NO areas of standing water. Standing water can be caused by sagging roof decking or improper drainage planning.

We've seen a lot of interesting issues with flat roofs! Old buildings, new construction, retro-fit, you name it, when it comes to low slope roofing, we've done it...And with outstanding results.
